South Heart Clinic Takes the Lead in a New Clinical Trial

South Heart Clinic is recognized for leading the way in cardiac care, and this reputation remains strong as they move forward with being the first to participate in a new clinical trial with Peerbridge Health, a developer of a hospital-grade remote diagnostic platform that utilizes AI to identify early signs of heart failure.

In the U.S., over 45 million people are living with Stage B heart failure, which is asymptomatic, meaning many are unaware of their condition. Detecting and addressing heart failure early not only saves lives but also helps prevent the cycle of costly hospital readmissions, which add billions to the country’s healthcare expenses. Peerbridge Health offers an innovative solution.

The Peerbridge Health platform provides a cost-effective, at-home monitoring system that delivers faster results, reducing the strain on patients and enabling more frequent evaluations.

For many patients, getting a final diagnosis can take 11 to 15 weeks. Peerbridge, however, can achieve a 95.7% accurate diagnosis in under 30 minutes, significantly lowering costs compared to traditional methods. This is the first major study to examine direct-from-ECG ejection fraction (EF) with this level of precision.

Within the trial, patients will wear Peerbridge’s AI-enabled Peerbridge Cor™ 3-lead, 2-channel wireless ambulatory ECG patch for 30 minutes at our clinic. Participants will receive a $50 gift card for their participation within the trial.

“We are excited to be a part of this multi-center study to evaluate groundbreaking technology,” says South Heart Clinic’s Electrophysiologist, Dr. Frank Mazzola. “We are proud to be the first enrollment site. This promises to be a major advancement for the care of out heart patients.”
