Valerie L. Cruz, MSN, APRN, FNP-C earned an Associate of Applied Science in nursing from South Texas College in McAllen, Tx in 2008 and has been a registered nurse for 16 years. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017 and a Master of Science in Nursing in 2020 from The University of Texas at Arlington. 

She began her career at Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen in the Progressive Coronary Care Unit as a floor and charge nurse prior to transitioning to Harlingen Medical Center Day Patient with a concentration in GI recovery. As a family nurse practitioner, she spent time treating pain management victims of motor vehicle accidents and bodily injury cases. She currently assists the South Heart Clinic call team at the local hospitals and strives to provide care inspired by 1 Corinthians 16:14 (NLT).
